THE HAIR WONDERS KIT SAVE MONEY! |
|
| Hi, AdJ, how are you? I have just recently changed my natural (braided) hair to relaxed hair. But, I really love braids, because of the versatility of style, and to me less upkeep, or should I say easier Upkeep. My problem is previously, before that, my hair was relaxed and had fallen out, and was severely damaged due to chemicals, thermal iron(daily), just plain poor up keep. So, in the process of trying to save the existing/remainin hair that I had left, my beautician suggest that I either cut my hair all off , accept for a couple of inches, wear a weave, or get my hair braided. I decided to get my hair braided and I am glad I did. I wore braids for two years, and my hair is now shoulder length. I would like to learn how to care for my hair no matter what style I wear, and stop the cycle of damaging my hair. Through trial and era, I have found several products that work quite well for my hair, but I have been searching for other products, particularly - moisturizer for my hair, that I can use daily on relaxed/colored treated hair, and hair that is braided. I have also search for informative information, like Ultra Black Hair Care, your web-site, and several others, but I have not found anything that is really concrete, and totally believable. Your web-site looks promising. Now I know that our hair (Black) needs moisture, I previously used Pink Oil Moisturizer, but it did not work , to heavy, to greasy, it made my hair hard, and it blocked my pores, can I use your moisturizer on a daily basis? Or can you tell me just what you use on your hair daily or weekly? Another thing that I agree with, is taking a daily hair vitamin/vitamin/ or some sort of extra nutrients that will help and assist our hair from the inside out. Consequently, I have been using a Hair vitamin, now for almost a month, and I am looking forward to seeing some results. Another thing, I believe in the process of stimulating the scalp, I just don't know to what extent, and what works the best. One of the way that I use is massaging my scalp daily, and sometimes using " Follicle fluid " by Organic Root around the temple of my scalp. I say occasionally, because one of the previous people who braided my years ago, braided my hair too tight, and that side is very thin. Well, bottom line you get the gist of what I am talking about and I am sure that there are hundreds of other sisters, that have been and are still in the same boat. Looking at your hair, you would never think that you had short hair that was hard to grow. But, whatever you did, I would really like to try it, braids or no braids. See, I know my hair will grow pretty long with braids, but I want to see how long it will grow without braids. Ultimately, I want long, strong and healthy hair, and I would love to pass this information on to other as you did. God bless you, and contact me soon. |

Hello Debbie, God bless you too! |
| Hi Adj, I am a product of Dominican parents. My mother is white and my father is black. I had been relaxing my hair since I was 12 years old. For a while there my hair was pretty healthy and long so I got cocky and started to dye it, gel it up, use hair spray, go into beach water and swimming pools without washing out the salt water or the chlorine water out right away. I would use curling irons and blow dry my hair all the time. Then of course it was my time to start college and I started taking all these classes and join black pride organizations and I found out all these things which were not taught to me. So when I was 19 my hair in dire need of assistance, I didn't know what else to do to it so I decided well I'm sick of relaxing it so I am going to go natural and see how that works. After my hair had grown out I loved the curls that I had been trying to supress for most of my life. I am 24 years old now and I have through it all. Although instead of my hair going from bad to good it has gone from bad to worse. Its so weak and has too many split ends. YOu see I used alot of gel because I figured "hey it's natural" so I don't have to about it. I have color it, I have gone as far putting a texturizer in it to loosen the curl. NOw the texture of my hair is curly but very soft. I have alot of hair but thin and very weak strands. I don't know what to do with it anymore. I have tried using everything. I have taken pills, I have used home remedies, I have burnt holes in pocket buying porducts that I think are going to help me and nothing seems to let it grow or atleast look hair. I am desperate please help me! I want a "Kelis" look. I am not concerned with the level of "nappiness" , I just want it to be long and healthy. Is that too much too ask for? Please help me Adj, Thank you for reading my long email, Mencia C.

| Hello Mencia, It sounds like you have already learned from your hair mistakes. Always rinse your hair after going into salt water or chlorine. I apply the HYDROLYZER conditioner to my hair before I get into salt water as a protective barrier. When I get out of the water I rinse and reapply the conditoner. As for appliances, the curling iron and blow dryers will wreck havoc on your hair. I'm not allowed to use the curling iron because I am inept at it! When I have a hair emergency, like this morning... I set my hair. Last night I went for a lovely walk along the stand in Redondo beach. (I didn't want to tell my date that I couldn't walk along the shore because I'd just had my hair done) So, the night ocean air took out all my curls. This morning I would have had to use the curling iron but instead I applied the HAIR SHIELD heat protectant and setting lotion on my hair and put in large smooth rollers. In less than ten minutes I had shiny curls. When I got home I put PSB PURE SHEA BUTTER on my ends to moisturize them and counter act any dryness that might be caused from the setting lotion. My hair looks like I just came from the hair salon again. Once you grew out your relaxer and went natural your hair sounded lovely. However, since you used both color and a texturizer your hair is breaking and thin because it is over processed. The gels you use probably have alcohol which is drying to your hair making it brittle. Here is my emergency treatment for damaged hair: 1. Shampoo with SOFT CURL moisturizing shampoo and rinse with warm water. 2. Make hot oil treatment using: 1-2 Tbsp PSB PURE SHEA BUTTER (depending on hair length) 1-2 Tbsp EHO ESSENTIAL HAIR OIL Heat on warm stove or in micro wave until PSB is melted. (Not too hot) mix and apply to your hair. Massage into your hair. If you don't have enought to cover all your hair make some more. Put a plastic cap on and do chores or read for 20 minutes. Rinse out with warm water. Appy the RECOVERY TREATMENT to stop the breakage followed by the HYDROLYZER to put back moisture and flexibility. After this treatment your hair will feel like new hair. You will need to trim off any split ends. On a daily basis you can use the HAIR DEW a moisturizing, alcohol free gel or the HAIR REFORMER a gel curl softener. Also massage the EHO ESSENTIAL HAIR OIL into your scalp and apply to your hair to keep it moisturized. It will take a few months but your hair will recover and now you will keep it healthy and strong. Wishing you healthy hair, Adj |
| Hi Angela, My mother was diagnosed with alopecia. Is there anything that she can do or take to grow her hair back? The doctor told her to take shots of cortesteroid treatments in her head. The hair did come out, but it was very thin. Once she stopped taking the treatments, it stopped altogether. I on the other hand have very thick hair and have a good grade, but would like to grow my hair out (I have a texturizer in it) now, what would you suggest? Michelle |
| Hello Michelle, I'm very sorry to hear about your mother's hair. There are several reasons for alopecia including stress and taking medications. A dermatologist that specializes in hair and scalp problems would be more qualified to help your mother. I would suggest that she take a multi-vitamin with minerals and a supplement like Super Food to give her body more nutrition. Using the PRE TREAT shampoo followed by the HYDROLYZER condtioner will stimulate her scalp. Massaging daily with the EHO will also bring the blood flow to the follicles. Since you are using a textuizer your hair will need deep conditioning and moisturizing. The products in the MIRACLE THREE kit will help your hair to stay healthy so it can grow. Wishing you and your mom healthy hair growth. --Adj |
Angela, I want my hair to grow out some more (right now it's an inch above my armpits) and I would like to stop putting chemical relaxers in my hair as I have been doing for 15 years now. The problem is that because I am in the military, I have to wear my hair pulled back in a bun of sorts and I also do PT (physical training) five days a week where I usually sweat profusely. In addition to that I swim in the evenings three times a week. When I finish PT, my hair is soaked with sweat and it smells weird, so I rinse it every morning and then after swim classes, I wash and condition it all over again. Am I doing too much or overstressing my hair? I get a deep conditioner done once a month and an Affirm relaxer every six to eight weeks. However, I do go for longer in the summer months. Because I've been getting my hair pressed or relaxed since I was a wee little girl, I couldn't tell you what my original hair texture is. I do know that my current stylist and past stylist have always referred to my roots as being thick and wavy. My hair gets so frizzy and unmanageable, I don't think anyone could dare call it "good hair" though. Do you recommend the Naturalaxer for someone with such a physical lifestyle such as my own? Also, I will be deploying to Iraq sometime in the next six months. i don't want to come back with all my hair cut-ff because I had to go that route. I also don't want to still be using a chemical relaxer. Do you have any suggestions for women in the military, with a good amount of hair? P.S. I ordered the Naturalaxer, reformer and the conditioner last week; I can't wait for my products to arrive! Mel |
| Hello Mel, Thanks for your order. You must be in incredible shape! I got a work out just reading about all your activities. :) Since you swim, sweat and need to wash your hair 5 times a week, you should use a gentle shampoo like the SOFT CURL and follow with the HYDROLYZER to put moisture back. You should use the RECOVERY TREATMENT weekly to keep your hair strong. Frizzy, unmanageable hair is due to dryness. Use the EHO ESSENTIAL HAIR OIL on your hair daily to keep it moisturized. Only apply the Naturalaxer to the new growth. Affirm is a lithium hydroxide relaxer and you shouldn't overlap. Try to wait until you have at least an inch of new growth. Use the EHO ESSENTIAL HAIR OIL on your hair daily to keep it moisturized. You may want to try wearing braids or twists to give your hair a rest from daily washing and styling. As you transition over to the Naturalaxer you will probably want to trim your ends until the old relaxer is all out. Once your hair is all Naturalaxed you will be able to use the HAIR DEW gel or HAIR REFORMER and get a wash and wear curly or wavy look depending on your hair texture. -Adj |
