Miss. Adj,

I am a 48 year woman, who wears her hair naturally. I keep it in braided styles, because I don't know what to do with it. It looks like a Angela Davis Afro when I wash it. When ever I have it relaxed, it usually break off until it is about a inch in length. I have been wearing braids now for over two years, and would like to try something new. Which products of your
would you recommend for me?
Marva

Hello Marva,

Thanks for writing.  Relaxers don't work for everyone.  Some hair types are too fine or fragile for chemical treatments.  We do have a couple alternatives.

First start by getting your hair into optimum condition with the MIRACLE THREE KIT.

Try using the HYDROLYZER conditioner as a leave in then use the HAIR REFORMER and see if you get a softer, curly afro.  You can also twist your hair using the HAIR DEW and put a perm rod on the ends of each twist.  You can wear the curly
twists for a week then take them out for a wavy style.

Experiment with the HAIR REFORMER and HAIR DEW get on your natural hair and you may find a few attractive styles to alternate with braids.

Hello my name is Alympia Payton and I am considering trying a product that you endorse called "Naturalaxer". Now, I have recently found that there is another product on the market called "Natural-Laxer". As you can see, the name of the latter product is almost identical to your aforementioned product. I try to be as much of an educated consumer as resources will allow, and in addition, I don't want to do anything that may damage or ravage my hair. I tried Copa a few years back and I literally was in tears over the state that product left my hair in. So, I would like to know if you could please offer your expertise in this department and enlighten me as to what the difference is between "Naturalaxer" and "Natural-Laxer"?

Thank you in advance.

Alympia

Hello Alympia,

You ask a very good question.  First of all we are two different companies.  From what I understand, the other product is from a plant.  How effective their product is, I don't know.

Our Naturalaxer-Kit-In-A-Jar is made with minerals.  Our product contains synthetic ingredients such as wax and emulsifiers to make the formula creamy and apply evenly.  Our active ingredients that soften the hair are all natural.

I'm sorry to hear what happened to your hair with Copa.  Sadly we have all gone through bad experiences with products.

My suggestion would be for you to order our product the NATURALAXER KIT-IN-A-JAR  and do a strand test.

1. Take a small section at the back of your hair
2. Apply the Naturalaxer
3. Leave it on for 20-25 min depending on how tight your curl is and the effect you want.
3. Rinse the test strand and shampoo with the Soft Curl (in the kit) follow by applying the Moisture Curl (in the kit)

Now feel your hair.  Look at the texture.  Watch that section for a week.  Now you can decide if you like the effect.  You can determine if you should leave the NATURALAXER on a little longer or little shorter (depending on if you want more or less curl)

If you are not happy with the product you have 30 days to return it for a refund.

Again, thanks for allowing us a chance to clear up the confusion.

Wishing you healthy hair,
Adj

I am considering purchasing the naturalaxer-kit-in-a-jar.  I currently press and curl my hair, or wear braids.  I am wondering how often will my hair need this process.  Is it a time frame of every 6-8 weeks like a traditonal relaxer?  Can your hair become overprocessed using this product?

Sandy

P.S.  I went to high school with a brother and sister, Magna & Richard Joseph.  They were from Trinidad.  Are you related to them or know them?

Hello,
Yes, the Naturalaxer will have to be reapplied to your new growth every 6-8 weeks depending on how fast your hair grows and the way you wear it.  The straighter you wear your hair the more often you need to do a touch up.  If you
leave the Naturalaxer on too long your hair will become softer.  Do a strand test first to see how long to leave it on your hair.

I do have a brother named Richard but no sisters (that I know of ;)

Pls I am confused, I am really confused. Are you trying to tell me that as an African woman with kinky hair, if I use your product "naturalaxer" I will have straight hair without damaging my hair contrary to using chemical relaxer.
chychy

Hello Chychy,

Thanks for writing.  The Naturalaxer-Kit-In-A-Jar does not make your hair straight.  It softens and loosens your natural curl.  You can get it straight with the heat from a blow dryer or pressing comb. Your hair will be easier to blow dry and easier to press and it will be more humidity resistent.  Unlike
chemical relaxers, the bonds in your hair are not broken and the cuticle layer of your hair is not eroded so your hair stays healthier.

After using the NATURLAXER your hair will still have a curl pattern but it will be looser and easier to style.
